“World Cleanup Day” is an international day designated for cleaning up our planet and bringing awareness to the problems of solid and marine waste management. It’s the perfect opportunity to come together with concrete daily actions for the preservation of the planet.
Résumé of the day :
On World Cleanup Day 2019 the Mai Globe Travels team organized a group of expatriates and locals to clean up the beaches around Matara. We worked together and had a successful mission.
Our waste collection report:
- 205kg of plastic bottles (wow!)
- 72kg of glass bottles
- 15kg of flip-flops
- 104kg of waste
- 10kg of polystyrene
